High-Efficiency UVB Output – Provides optimal levels of UVB radiation to support reptiles’ natural vitamin D3 synthesis, essential for calcium metabolism and preventing metabolic bone disease.
T5 HO (High Output) Technology – Features a slimmer, more energy-efficient design with higher light intensity and better penetration compared to traditional T8 bulbs, ensuring effective UVB distribution.
Full-Spectrum Lighting – Mimics natural sunlight by emitting both UVB and UVA rays, promoting reptiles’ physiological health, appetite, and natural behaviors.
Long Lifespan – Typically lasts 9–12 months before requiring replacement, though regular UVB output testing is recommended as effectiveness diminishes over time.
Versatile Compatibility – Suitable for a wide range of reptile enclosures (desert, tropical, or woodland habitats) and works with compatible T5 HO fluorescent fixtures for easy installation.

Nice reptile UVB light
Nice small 12″ light fixture. Gives off good amount of light and solid UVB rays. Easy to setup on one tank. Like how it has a link cable for the option to chain fixtures between multiple terrariums off the same plug in.

Just Okay. Works, But Has a Design Flaw
The light itself works well and provides good UVB output from what I can tell, but the connection where the power cord plugs into the fixture isn’t very secure. Even a small movement can cause it to loosen or fall out, which makes setup a bit frustrating. Once it’s in place, it does the job, but I wouldn’t buy this model again unless they improve the plug connection.

Good little UVB bar
Reviewing the Mr.Reptile T5 12″ UVB bar. It had a wavy flicker for a little bit when it first started up but seems fine now. I used my solarmeter to test this. Without any screen it showed a UV index of lower 4.0’s about 11-12″ away from the tube. Measuring the UVB with it sitting on a reptizoo 10gallon sliding top screen, it goes down to 3.0’s just 6″ away. I’ll let you decide if that’s going to work for you. It is pretty bright but not too obnoxiously so, I think. Only time will tell how durable it is. It functions as it should. Good value for money, it seems to be a tough little UVB tube. No problems installing tube in the fixture, it stays put.

Light but sturdy fixture that gives off plenty of UVB.
I’ve used many of these over the years, and I think this is the best design yet! It’s compact and lightweight, but it’s not flimsy and popping apart (like one I had before!) There’s an on/off switch built into the cord. It comes with all the hardware you need to mount the light fixture on wood (although the screws are a bit long and I grabbed some shorter ones for my purpose) or a mesh screen. It snaps into the clips very securely.Best of all, my UVB indicator card showed that this bulb is putting out plenty of UVB right there where my lizard rests on his little window balcony. I definitely feel good about that!
