Good duck dummy
We did end up tying a knot on the throwing end so the duck didn’t slide as much. This eliminated my dog grabbing the head only and playing with it.With two labs, we try to keep working with them because their breeding makes this an enjoyable activity for them. This dummy is a decent value and the size is good. It is a little small for being a mallard, but a wood duck or other smaller ducks are this size. The dogs don’t really care about colors anyway.It is soft material, so teeth marks show up immediately. Even with a gentle mouth, there is going to be punctures into this. This is fine, those “bites” wouldn’t go through the feathers and skin so not teaching bad habits. The weight is good for flinging. It flies pretty far without to much effort.

Good, for the price.
At first glance, it’s clearly not the Avery version and just a knock off, but that being said, the weight is right and it will throw and be retrieved just the same. The body and head are both made of foam, rather than plastic and the head isn’t hard to discourage poor carries, like Dokken or Avery brand dummies are. In addition, the throw rope is threaded through the body and anchored in the head on one end and in the throw knob on the other, so it slides back and forth. This is no big deal, though, as it “gets right” when you throw it and dogs won’t know or care about the difference.
