Red wiring is not for all models, but if the OEM radio harness of your vehicle does not have an ignition wire, the aftermarket stereo cannot be turned off and on through the OEM radio harness; To solve this problem, you need to get a 12v power supply from the ignition by running the red cable separately from the factory radio harness

Customers say

Customers find the wiring harness easy to integrate and appreciate its plug-and-play interface. However, the product receives mixed feedback regarding functionality, with some reporting it works perfectly while others say it doesn’t work at all. Moreover, the quality, fit, and ease of use are also mixed aspects, with some finding it decent while others describe it as terrible. Additionally, the wire compatibility and color coding are problematic, with customers noting that the wires don’t match up and don’t follow universal color codes. The value for money is also mixed, with some considering it worth the price while others find it a waste of money.

Works as described, still holding up to this day. You will get your moneys worth from this here
The instructions that come with this are very vague they say to please correct the pins, if they do not match up, but it does not show how to switch the pin over to a different spot. A few of my pins on my 2007 Silverado did not line up with the factory harness and the red wire for the switched power was not even close to being long enough to run to the fuse box. I’m guessing since they added the red cable for the switch 12 V power they are aware that the harness for the radio does not come with one and needs to be fused tapped. After doing some research after 2006 Silverado‘s do not have fuses that are switch powered all fuses are constant or only work when the button is being pressed. It took me looking in various forums to find out why my radio was not turning on, which is because, the factory radios turn on due to signals being sent through the harness and not direct 12 V switched power. This information would’ve been very helpful and saved me a lot of time maybe even would’ve thought twice about buying an adapter harness and instead buying an interface, which would’ve eliminated this whole problem. After all the slight modifications, the harness ended up fulfilling its purpose (ONLY, because I made it work, I do thank amazons annoyingly long return/refund process as motivation to not give up trying) but I feel it’s some thing the seller should mention when showing the compatibility for vehicles. Unless I’m the only person that ran into this problem while having a 1 in a million kinda truck***Edited***So after months of frequently replacing LED and HID bulbs for my headlights since the daytime, running light fuse was the closest thing to a switch powered fuse, and not a constant I actually found a hidden spot that is switch powered for the 07-13 model Silverado’s, behind the hood latch near the brake pedal there’s a small box with a cover on it that has a picture of a battery on itSo I have to take back what I said since the red 12V switch cable does reach the spot I found that works best now.I believe it’s the second row from the bottom up and the second spot from left to rightI’ll try to remember to take a picture when there’s some day light

    2012 Impala
Worked perfectly in my 2012 Impala without swapping pins or anything. Had to plug the switched power into the window relay though. Car issue not the harness.

    Awful
Terrible product, didn’t work at all, must’ve been wired incorrectly from the factory. No power was coming from the labled 12v wire. Tested with a multimeter to verify. Bought a new wiring harness from the autoparts store and it worked perfectly. Do that instead of buying this garbage.

    2012 Chevy Tahoe (special wiring)
For a 2012 Chevy Tahoe this harness does work however if you are using an additional steering wheel control then you will need to make a change. On the PAC you need to have a wire in Pin 13 ( green wire on vehicle) but this harness has nothing in Pin 13 and Red Wolf placed a pin wire (pink) in Pin 14. On the Tahoe you do not need a wire in pin 14. You will need to move the pink wire in this harness from Pin 14 (which is not used on a 2012 Tahoe) and put it in Pin 13. Once you do that wire up per instructions and you will have working steering wheel controls too. For reference, you will need an ignition power wire run outside of the harness. Red Wolf does not provide a long enough wire so you will need to tap into fuse box under the hood and run power from a 15 amp switched fuse (using a fuse tap) all the way to the radio.

Did not work with my truck
Was told by tech support that this is what I needed to install a new head unit in my 2011 Silverado. I had it all wired up and all that worked was the radio. I called tech support back and was told that with this I would lose the the door chimes, key in the ignition chimes, would not have steering wheel controls and a couple other features I would lose. The second tech I talked to directed me to the correct wiring harness I actually needed to keep all the factory features. Was not happy that I had to disassemble everything to send it back and put my old stereo back in until the new harness arrived. Always get a second opinion, it’ll save you a ton of frustration and headaches.

Easy connect. Snapped together and locked in.Not sure if something was defective or a pin was missing. But my deck had no illumination. Checked from the car and got the correct voltage. Didn’t want to trying finagling with it just to make it work.

Like the title says good quality and worked as intended. Could have had better instructions but basically plug and play after it was wired
