Great product that I have used for years
My koi love this fish food and gobble it up every time I put it in the pond. I have used this product for years, but I wanted to try another fish food (Microblift) and I actually found a utility knife in the bag! I threw it away of course and will now only stick with brands that have great reviews and quality control standards in place. I have never had any issues with this brand of fish food. This food is great for easing my koi into winter. They all transition from Hikari Gold to this food without a problem and they digest this food easier than the Gold for the fall weather. The medium size pellets are great for koi as small as 5″ up to the large 18″ koi.

Great Koi food
The first thing you want to check when buying koi food is the main source of protein. Corn is the absolute worst thing you can feed your koi but itâs the main ingredient in most commercial koi food but Hikari food always has something like krill or shrimp as their protein source and never corn, not even as a filler. A good food promotes steady growth, reduces ammonia and nitrites from waste and Hikari food always have ingredients that help bring out bright colors in your koi too.

Item arrived on time. The fish seem to like it which is what important. The pellets are really small, but I still have to crush some because my fish are lazy and prefer to catch the food as it sinks. The main thing is it is eaten and not left to float in the pond.
