Now this bed had a proper foam pad! It’s thick and good for a large dog! THe reason I gave it 4 stars is the cover, it doesn’t seem to have very thick material and that concerns me. Time will tell!

Perfect Bed for My Senior Dog
I got this bed for my 8-year-old German Shepherd/Husky mix, and she took to it right away. Sheâs getting older and starting to show some stiffness in her joints, so I wanted something supportive. The memory foam base is thick and firm enough to give her real support, but it still has some give so she looks comfortable when she lays down.The bolster around the edge is a nice touchâshe likes to rest her head on it like a pillow. The dual-sided design is smart too: one side is cooler for summer and the other side is warmer and cozier, so it works year-round.The cover comes off easily for washing, which is a must with a big dog, and the waterproof liner underneath helps protect the foam if there are accidents or spills. The non-slip bottom keeps it from sliding around on our hardwood floors when she climbs on and off.Size-wise, the XL Plus has plenty of room for her to stretch out fully. Very easy to and assemble and the covers went on without incident
CWAWZ XL Orthopedic Dog Bed – It came in a very compact box and was very easy to remove and assemble. The covers went on easy without incident. There was more than enough room for our sixteen-year-old Labrador Retriever female and I thought she would love it due to her age and how the cushion might help with her old aching joints. Boy was i wrong! I could not get her to climb onto it and it’s not that big a step up (maybe four inches or so). Twice I was able to coax her onto it with treats, but without them, no deal. Once I went so far as to lift all eighty pounds of her and place her on it, in what I thought would be a comfortable position; she just whined, even while petting her. So I moved the bed and placed it in her most favorite spot in the house, where she just looked at it and snarled (with a very low, almost inaudible growl). She’s always been a little stubborn, but now is really set in her ways and does not appreciate change (even if it’s for the better). I do not know how to really rate this dog bed, but my dog really does not like it at this time. Having said that, she has never liked any sort of bedding or pallet other than perhaps our king-size bed (when she was younger and more agile, and we were not around). We do not let her lay or sleep on the bed as she sheds quite a bit; that’s one of the reasons this dog bed with removable washable covers was so appealing (to me). Perhaps I should have ordered the jumbo size as I might be sleeping on it after all this.So, I am going to give this a four star rating as I like it and suspect most large dogs will too if offered to them at an earlier stage in life.

Big dog, need the XXL bed
I have been searching for an XL dog bed that could accommodate my 130 lb Anatolian Shephard. This bed works when my dog chooses to lay the right way.This size is an XL for comparison and it comes compressed so be sure to allow it to fully expand before using it. That takes 24 to 48 hours.It foam parts come in 4 pieces. The main one piece foam egg shell mat, the long back and 2 arms. The back and arms are small pieces of foam that expand when you fluff them up.The cover is nice and soft and the foam parts super easy to slide into place which give it some structure.Be sure you put the pointed part in first on the arm.The size is pretty good about 2″ thick as long as my silly dog positions herself properly. It seems to handle her big thick body and it should be durable as long as she doesn’t dig at it too much.The zipper quality was nice and easy to zip so when it is time to wash the cover it will be simple to remove.I would reorder an XXL for this size dog next time.

Very Comfy!
I recently purchased this orthopedic dog bed for my 130-pound dog. It came in a box with foam that is compressed and wrapped in plastic. I took a day or two for the foam to completely expand and then another few days for the foam smell to go away. I put the foam into the cover before it had fully expanded which made it extremely easy to put together. Once the foam had expanded it was dense and supportive. This bed offers just the right firmness without being too hard. The cooling design is a brilliant touch. It has a cool-to-the-touch surface perfect for keeping the dog cool. The removable, washable cover is easy to unzip and clean. This bed is actually big enough for large dogs. A lot of beds claim to be for large breeds, but end up being too small. Not this one. My dog can stretch out fully or curl up. If you have a large dog who deserves a seriously comfy place to sleep, this bed is worth every penny. Itâs functional, well-designed, and clearly made with big dogs in mind. Highly recommended!
