Wow, after dealing with vests for my service dog since a pup, this one is my favorite.For people complaining about the straps loosening probably did not read the very simple to discern instructions. Might wanna get the flier out and practice using the details. For a five star experience.100 pound GSD has lots of space in the XL. It is like Goldilocks final bowl, just right.First thing noticed right away is the quality. Stitching is well done. Second, the adjustable size would fit an 85 to 115+ pound dog. At 100, my buddy is midrange fit with the straps so my guess is at least 15 pounds in both directions for sizing.While trying on the gear noticed the chest buckles and how easy they are to release. For the check, am guessing the reason for the OG style is due to maybe when testing the quick release might come undone. Or, maybe while laying down the new one pinches. Not sure why we donât have the new buckle all around.Since I remove using the stomach buckles to remove the harness it isnât as fast as the quick release chest option. Regardless, this vest rocks.My buddy is nine. Bought this as his final vest to wear when we take potty walks. Rather than the neck leash and sometimes gentle leader. This promotion is to be able to maintain appearance of control and if thereâs a loose dog like today that attacked him. In our front yard while he was on a leash. Iâm able to hold without the gentle leader tugging.Plus for road trips. This will help us to the dog parks across country at Loves without having to leash him.The appearance of the vest is spiffy. My buddy looks super handsome. He seems happy wearing it. He likes getting dressed for work.The value for the money, color (camo green) and visibility are perfect. Perfect harness for our cattle dog
100% recommend! Worked perfectly for my hyper active cattle dog. I highly recommend ordering based on your dogâs measurements for best fit. This harness is well made and durable. We love the handle that is incorporated into the design which gave us a sense of security when our pup got too excited around other dogs. The value you get for the price you pay is definitely worth it you can easily get something similar at petco and spend 3 times the amount.

Very good harness, but NOT escape proof; ran large for us
We looked at the size guide and thought we should be ordering a Large for our 55 lb pure muscle Cattle Dog, but when it arrived it was clear that it was WAYYY too big. So we exchanged for a size Medium instead. The medium was still on the large side, but we were able to adjust the straps to fit her.I find that the belly straps seem to loosen on their own. Every 2 or 3 times our dog wore the harness, I would notice that it was getting loose again, so now I adjust the harness when I take it off so it doesn’t get too loose. The neck straps seem to stay tight.Like most harnesses, if the dog figures out that they can back up against the leash, they can scoot out of the harness. If it is properly tightened that is not as easy to do, but if the belly straps are at all loose, it’s a fairly simple process for a determined dog to slip out. To combat this, we do our best to not let our dog get in a position where she can back up with the leash taut. We keep her ahead of us, and if she starts to back up we give some slack on the leash and then get behind her so she’s not backing up against the leash. She figured out pretty quickly that it’s not worth the effort, and doesn’t really try any more.All that considered, though, the harness is lovely. It is substantial and sturdy. It is fully adjustable. You can dismantle the harness altogether and fasten it onto your dog, or you can leave the neck opening connected and slip it over their neck then fasten the belly section.The fasteners are foolproof – you cannot accidentally fasten a neck fastener to a belly fastener, because they are different size and different material. So it’s quick and straightforward to put on, even when your dog is super excited to be going on a walk and their entire body is wagging. The neck fasteners appear to be metal, so they are solid. The belly fasteners are plastic, but they appear quite sturdy.There are metal leash connectors on the belly (great for fastening to a seat belt leash for car rides), and on the back (for regular walks). And there is a fabric handle on the back in case you want to hold your dog in position for a moment on a walk. All these appear sturdy (even after frequent use over a few months).We have not used the Velcro or loops yet, but they appear substantial, and are well positioned for labels (service dog, dog in training, name, etc.) or for backpack-style attachments. Just keep in mind that any pack you add to your harness will add weight to your dog and will affect the balance, so you’ll need to give your dog some time to grow accustomed to the new feeling.

best harness in the world
I have a very sweet but powerful dog. If she senses trouble when we are walking she will tense up. There’s a posture that a dog uses for different situations. a responsible dog owner will know these postures. When she tenses I know something is wrong and having gone thru many “they will never get out of this harness” thing, I finally came upon this one. when I put it on her she knows its walk time, she is happy and I am both happy and relieved that nothing will hinder this walk. It is made so well it goes halfway down her back. Buckles are huge and padded underneath for her comfort. As the harness is put on, her head goes thru an opening and a T form of reinforced material goes under her neck to her belly and connected to the side. There is a handle on top of the harness that allows you to hold your dog if necessary and two reinforced rings one on top and one under her neck for walking and they are reinforced also. It is a comfortable, extremely well built strong harness that will enable a small adult to control the dog if necessary. I love it because I know I am in complete control of her and not at a price to pay for a pulled arm of a bad fall. She loves people, she was adopted from a high kill shelter in Ny. She came to my home with my bossy Jack Russell and they are now in love, (imagine that). I have also trained them to sit and wait until the other dog either goes by or the owner and the dog make a run for it. This harness is the answer to my prayers and yours for a long relaxing walk. Ahhh the sweet smell of Spring air.
