This brush is gentle and my Aussiedoodle doesn’t pull from it like other brushes. Easy to remove the hair that it collects, flexible so it doesn’t hurt the dog. Highly satisfied with this brush – a must have for Aussiedoodle parents and the wavy curly coats!

AMAZING . . .
First, if this brush does not hold up, I will edit my review to reflect any changes I feel about it!Our family includes multiple dogs and cats. We have a German Shepherd with longish hair and all GSD are enthusiast shedders. My husband had just groomed her a few days before the brush came. When I got it I took her collar off and spent a few minutes/swipes on her neck area and I got an absolutely amazing amount of hair off of her and into the brush. This brush’s flexible head is extremely effective in following the contours of the dog’s body. Note: Coastal makes other dog brushes that have “protected tips” on the teeth, this one does not, so it would not be good on a dog with skin issues or on a “thin skinned” dog (even if the dog only imagines it! Ha!).The two sides are “color coded” with the dark side being stiffer and the light side being less stiff (lighter so it is easy to remember which side you are using). We now have two Coastal brushes and they are both very well made, well designed, and very effective. Highly recommended.

Works great, pets don’t mind it at all
I really like this brush, it gets a lot of undercoat, helps detangle mats (have to use it very gently with short brush strokes, starting at the ends of the hair working your way toward the skin), and the shape & flexibility are unique, helpful features. I bought the medium and it works great as a full-body brush for my fluffy cat, who actually loves being brushed with it, and my cat actually feels different when I pet him now–sleeker is the only word I can think of to describe it. I also bought this to use in targeted areas that tend to mat a lot on my Great Pyrenees dog. He doesn’t love the feel of it like the cat, but he does tolerate it well. It works great for de-matting all over. The flexibility is an interesting feature; I think it makes brushing more comfortable for my animals because it’s more yielding than a typical slicker brush, and it works well on curvy areas of the body. I purchased this after losing my Petzoom slicker brush, and even though this isn’t self-cleaning I think I like this one even better. I use a cheap human comb from the dollar store to clear the hair off the brush, which is painless.The medium size is just right for an overall brush for a cat and spot-brushing for a large dog. You could also use it as an overall brush for a medium-sized dog, and I will probably use it as an overall brush for my very large dog, it just doesn’t cover as much territory at time as a larger slicker would.

need bristles that are shorter for rabbits and a protective coating. Bunnies need a brush specifically made for Holland lops, that are fuzzy. The brush should be short with protective plastic at the top of bristle. Fuzzy bunnies need a brush that are bunny friendly

My Siamese cat loves this brush!
My Siamese cat loves this brush! It’s flexible, seems comfortable for him, and he now loves to be brushed! I wave the brush in the air and ask if he wants brushies- he lays down on his side. This is an 8 year old cat that has not loved being brushed in the past. I was shocked with how much fur it removed. This brush really helps with the shedding and fur around the house.
